UNM Children's Hospital 9/21/2010

New Mexico's only dedicated Children's Hospital, Nestled in nearly 500,000 square feet of the new Barbara & Bill Richardson Pavilion, UNM Children's Hospital cares for nearly 60,000 children, over half of whom live outside of the Albuquerque area. They treat acute illness and trauma to chronic disease and disability.

Wow What can I say I have never has so much fun in my life.... yesterday was the best ever I had so much fun with the kids in the transfusion unit, and at their appointments. They offered many things for kids in the hospital such as an outdoor playground psp, xbox, wii , game cube, even a teacher from APS schools, Ronald McDonald house, and a kids room with board games, toys, books and so much more. UNM Children's hospital was a blessing to be a part of. It was so nice to see the children were separate from all the adults so they too were comfortable and more payed attention too!

I made such wonderful friends with people and the staff was so helpful and kind. I also enjoyed talking with the parents of these kids who were so sick. Let me tell you it hurt me so much inside to see what they were going through with their loved one. A very strong family bond was needed! What was crazy is some of these kids were on their second or third time with their treatment for kidney disease or cancer I met all ages and what hurt me the most was the baby girl who was getting her cancer treatment and was a sleep as her parents watched over her. The hospital was so nice that they lent her mom a laptop to keep up with her work while they were there.

Please God in Heaven take care of these precious kids they didn't ask for it and they to deserve a life that is rewarding, loving, and blessed.

Santa Fe Fiestas

Que Viva La Fiesta

What Can I say I am so proud to have been in our states capital this past weekend for the Santa Fe Fiestas. There was the Burning of the Zozobra on Thursday Sept 9 which is highlight of la fiesta. Just after dusk, a 50-foot effigy called Zozobra will be burned in the central park, accompanied by dancers and drumbeats. Zozobra is also known as "old-man gloom". Santa People believe that when he is burned, all of your troubles go up in smoke with him. However, depending on who you talk to, there will be no troubles either for the next five days or in the coming year.

On Sunday is the big parade which I walked and gave out candy.
I heard everyone saying look Mrs NM. It was so awesome and I also got to meet all kinds of congress and state officials who said they have heard a lot about me. They were pleased with all the work and support that I have been doing with our New Mexicans. It made me so excited to know that I am making a difference. I also met Brian Colon who is running for our State Lt Governor and our NM State treasure James Lewis who is a cowboy fan yea Go Cowboys....

It was all wonderful and glad to have been apart and continue working with.
Thank Senator Udall's Office and Mike Lopez for everything.

Aspen Elementry Scholastic Book Fair

Wow I have had such a blast this week. I worked at my daughters school with the Scholastic Book Fair making money for the school. I can say it was a great success and all the little kids were so excited and took turn wearing my sash. Then I played with them out on the playground. Felt great to have kids look up to me and get so excited.

Taos Fiestas

I was so excited to be asked to take part in the Taos Fiestas. My family and I had a blast as I walked the whole parade in a dress and heels but due to the rain didn't tkae much pictures. It was so nice seeing all the people out there. I am blessed that many went to support me. It was so nice to be with Tom Udall's float.

I even got to meet our running Gov Diane Denish who seemed like a very nice, genuine woman.

I hope everyone had fun.

For now I am out.

Mrs International Pageant 2010

Wow What can I say I had the oppotunity to meet 52 Gorgeous, Accomplished and Loving women.

I had the time of my lifr and one of the best pageant experiences ever. OMG Mary the director was so wonderful in person even better than I expected or pictured.

Being with these women shring experience and insights has really made me realize why each of us choose to compete, have a platform, and go out there.

I believe that pageants are just beautiful women but what they have to offer each other and the world to make a difference. Being Mrs New Mexico International has really changed my life this year and made me a better person. It has truely giving me a reason to speak out for those who can't and fight back at life and enjoy those I love.

Although, I didn't take the crown or make the top 10 I have realized that yes we would all like to  be the winner but that isn't as improtant as knowning who you are representing what you feel passinoate about and enjoying your journey because no one can take your state title or what you have done to make a difference in the world now.

Lastly, Thank you to the International Pageant sytstem for this opportunity, letting me meet wonderful empowing women, and real understand why I like competing and being apart of a pageant sytsem and especially one that represets families.
