Wow What can I say I have never has so much fun in my life.... yesterday was the best ever I had so much fun with the kids in the transfusion unit, and at their appointments. They offered many things for kids in the hospital such as an outdoor playground psp, xbox, wii , game cube, even a teacher from APS schools, Ronald McDonald house, and a kids room with board games, toys, books and so much more. UNM Children's hospital was a blessing to be a part of. It was so nice to see the children were separate from all the adults so they too were comfortable and more payed attention too!
I made such wonderful friends with people and the staff was so helpful and kind. I also enjoyed talking with the parents of these kids who were so sick. Let me tell you it hurt me so much inside to see what they were going through with their loved one. A very strong family bond was needed! What was crazy is some of these kids were on their second or third time with their treatment for kidney disease or cancer I met all ages and what hurt me the most was the baby girl who was getting her cancer treatment and was a sleep as her parents watched over her. The hospital was so nice that they lent her mom a laptop to keep up with her work while they were there.
